Admission as an Elective Private Patient

If you do not have private health insurance, you can nominate to be admitted as a self-funded patient and you will pay a competitive rate for your stay in hospital. You will need to sign an election form, indicating an informed financial consent has been provided. For elective patients, payment is required on the day of admission.

As an Elective Private Patient, you should have met with your doctor before coming to the hospital and will have discussed the type of treatment you are expecting.

The details of your hospital stay should be clear to you.  If not, these details can be clarified with the nursing staff in the Private Hospital, or with your doctor.

To assist with the admission process and allow us to deliver the best care possible, please complete any paperwork provided to you by your doctor and return to the consulting rooms. We aim to receive completed documents at least one week prior to your admission.

Please call (08) 8721 1412 the day prior to your admission so we can inform you of your fasting time and any instructions regarding your medications.

If you are required to remain overnight, Mount Gambier Private Hospital will endeavour to provide a single room in the Private Hospital unless circumstances where the need for more care means that private accommodation is not practicable.
